Chuck Shelton is America's top expert on diversity for white men who lead. He is the author of Leadership 101 For White Men: How to Work Successfully with Black Colleagues and Customers, the first book for the six million white men in the U.S. who lead for a living.

Chuck has developed leaders at Microsoft, Wal-Mart, Key Bank, Comcast, Safeco Insurance, and in more than forty other organizations. Since 1981, he has trained, spoken, consulted and coached on leadership development and diversity management nationally, through more than 270 presentations and projects.

Chuck earned degrees from a progressive college (a Bachelors in conflict studies from Evergreen) and an evangelical seminary (a Masters in theology and ethics from Fuller). He has earned certification as a facilitator for a dozen leadership development programs, and his professional memberships include the Society for Human Resource Management and the American Society for Training and Development.

As a diversity expert, he has appeared on ABC and NBC stations, and as a talk radio guest numerous times. Chuck has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, and has been featured in and written newspaper columns and magazine articles. The Governor of Kentucky recently honored him with a commission as a Colonel of the Commonwealth, after Chuck delivered the keynote at the Governor's EEO Conference.

On the personal side, Chuck is husband (for 34 years) to Suzanne Shelton, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist; and father to Melinda (a law student) and Patrick (a musical theatre student). His other interests include church, hiking, skiing, songwriting, and any Golden Retriever he can get his hands on. He lives near Seattle with his family and an intact sense of humor.
